Upper Valley French, designed by Martha van der Drift Ph.D., is an entity dedicated to promoting the French language and Francophone cultures in the Upper Valley community.

One one hand, it is a tutoring and private lesson service for French students and Francophiles in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont*. Whether you’re a high school or college student looking for a tutor to help with courses and proficiency goals or an adult who wants to learn French or enhance their language skills and cultural knowledge, we will plan a tailor-made program based on your learning style and personal goals. Martha conducts most of her lessons in person. She also conducts lessons via Skype for conversation, reading, discussion groups, and more.

In addition to private lessons and tutoring services, Martha volunteers with the Upper Valley community to promote the French Language and Francophone cultures. Events may evolve over time to include themed travel to select locations in Francophone areas and themed events with Upper Valley businesses where participants can learn and practice their French in a tailor-made, immersive environment.

Martha also conducts translation services from French to English. She has translated a number of articles from French to English for business, academics in the U.S. and abroad and for some articles by Nobel Laureate,  J-M.G. Le Clézio.

Her fees depend on the article length, subject matter (research involved), and turnaround time. Read more here.
